BKNWA STUDIO

WORK BEFORE
IT BECOMES FINAL.

Drawings, fragments, pattern studies, failed lines, print tests, and work still in motion. The studio is where BKNWA exists before the finished object.

BALAY BAKUNAWA

HOUSE OF THE BAKUNAWA / BKNWA STUDIO

BKNWA Studio — Balay Bakunawa workspace

Balay Bakunawa is the working room behind BKNWA, the place where drawings are built, references accumulate, garments are marked up, and ideas are tested before they become finished objects. The tables are rarely clear for long. Pens, rulers, cutting mats, paper, books, found objects, plants, amulets, and unfinished studies all stay within reach because the studio works less like a showroom and more like a living archive.

This is where the visual language of BKNWA is developed through repetition, redrawing, pattern studies, failed lines, print tests, and small adjustments that rarely appear in the final piece. The objects in the room are not decoration alone; many become references for shape, texture, symbolism, and atmosphere. Balay Bakunawa holds the process before it is cleaned up, the part of the work where ideas are still allowed to change.

Finished drawings, studies, and objects kept after the work leaves the table. A growing record of pieces that became garments, stayed as images, or simply refused to disappear.
